2 year, $16? Not as bad as the 12 per that was initially speculated.
Edit: wonder if we saved enough money on Affalo that we can officially offer Monroe the full max.

Actually that is a pretty reasonable contract from what we have seen. He got 2 years 16mm Shump 4 40.

8 a year isn't bad at all.

Agreed - not my first choice at SG, but can't hate the contract.
If true its a bargain. Less money than shumpert and less years. Same money as aminu. Wow.

Well i said i wouldn't mind him for 7/8 so i'll take that contract and only for two years i also like.
holy crap! WOW What a steal!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not think $8mil was possible with the contracts doled out yesterday! But I was holding out hope that we could sign him for $8mil since his value was so low after his stint in Portland. Low risk high reward!!!!
Now get us Monroe or Derrick Williams Phil!!!!
Sign Bass & Wright
Call it a day!!!!
Curious to why he had a bad year and other than extrapolate the present into the future from fans, what was the cause of the off year? Bad fit with Portland? injury? Age?
It makes us better.
18pts on 43% from 3 only two years ago. Led Denver to the playoffs and wasting a product of the system like Green $ Matthews. Nuff said!!!!
the current squad:
PG: Calderon, Galloway
SG: Afflalo, Grant
SF: Melo, Early
PF: [ ], Porzingis
C: [ ], [ ]
really hope the rest of the signings allow us to play a lot of melo at the 4 with shooters around him. that's the only way we can win with him. as is, we have a nice amount of guard depth.

if you average his last 3 years together we’re looking at 15 ppg 3 reb 3 ast in 35 mpg. 40% from 3
Think a more consistent 6th man of the year JR in 2012-13 without the on and off the court antics. You've seen how JR siglehandedly helped us win games when right. Affalo is a playmaker not a spot up jumpshooter and he is only 29 on an $8mil per deal
Great value....makes much more sense than the $12 million per year number that was being thrown out there.
Very good signing at that price.

I think he had a ankle injury last year ... Great signing and a movable contract for the trade deadline .. Afflalo isn't my first choice but who knows we might still go after another shooting guard or just fill up our space with what we need and go over the cap to sign Shved as our back up

Should not even be a question. With the deals these bums are getting Monroe at $15mil is a bargain. We need size and girth inside. Monroe is perfect. Phil better fly out to wherever Monroe is right. Is and get it done
Good job Phil. Didn't overpay. Not a long commitment. Solid player. Hope he has a big bounce back to his previous level.
Given the salary explosion, I guess this is adequate. I was worried the salary would be a lot worse. I wonder what metrics if any the Knicks are using.

Brian Shaw messed him up. It happens. 29yr old guys who shoot 43% from 3 bounce back
